Maintenance Mechanic B

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Principal Duties:

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble
  • Dismantles devices to and remove and replace defective parts
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices
  • Lubricates and cleans parts
  • Starts devices to test their performance
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines
  • Repairs electrical equipment
  • Equipment Cleaning
  • Keeps Parts Inventory
  • Perform Scheduled PM Services
  • Perform Daily Inspections of Mobile and Stationary Equipment

Abilities and Skills:

  • 6 Months minimum mechanical repair related experience in a heavy industrial setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical school preferred.
  • Position involves standing for long periods of time, as well as, some heavy lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling and bending.
  • Employee should be able to climb and work at heights
  • Employee should be self-motivated
  • Person will need to be neat/organized and maintain a neat/organized work environment
  • Employee should have some experience in working in and around heavy duty mobile equipment
  • Position involves working alone and as part of a team.
  • Employee should have the ability to work in small spaces
  • Employee will need to be able to work near and around water.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
