Vice President of Product Development

The Vice President of Product Management is responsible for all syndicated product development, planning, and client experience. The role leads a cross functional process to create and maintain a client focused portfolio of high quality reports and data sets and ensures that final products meet the value proposition for the solution and exceeds client expectations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
New Product Development -40-50% of time

  • Develop, manage and maintain process and tools to support the generation of new syndicated and products that are aligned with the strategic objectives of the firm

    • Develop customer intelligence in conjunction with marketing and other sources to define competitors, customers/users, and product opportunities for expansion into strategic markets not already served


  • Lead all phases (ideation, testing, and launch) of new syndicated services and products in coordination with other practice areas, including marketing, sales, and other areas as required

  • Lead the transition of new products from New Product Development into operating teams (syndicated, marketing, and sales) including operations, content generation, sales and marketing support, content creation, and client delivery

  • Facilitate creative and collaborative cross functional teams that generate successful new products


Portfolio Management -20-25% of time

  • Build and maintain cross functional process to optimize syndicated product portfolio based upon; profitability, alignment with client needs, quality of deliverables, opportunities and gaps

  • Review portfolio annually to ensure all products are optimally positioned, meet a client need, and have delivered on value proposition

  • Establish process to review performance and planning of current portfolio to including marketing, practice areas, sales, and finance,

  • Lead cross functional review of portfolio products to assess performance and recommend the portfolio management options to senior leadership for review and approval


Client Experience -20-25% of time

  • Define the client experience required for all products by type, role and users

  • Recommend solutions to achieve and measure the experience in delivery, access, content, topics, and technology that achieve the desired client experience

  • Lead the practice areas in creating and maintaining a consistent client experience across all practices area


Associate Management and Development -5-10%

  • Provide day to day management, supervision and development of 1-2 associates

  • Lead a cross functional teams to achieve the goals of new product and business development


Skills & Abilities Requirements:

  • Translates abstract concepts into firm content and deliverables that are easily communicated to groups

  • Able to build teams and interact effectively with staff at all levels of the company

  • Possess intimate knowledge of the information needs and applications of branded pharmaceutical manufacturers

  • Effectively builds, facilitates and manages cross functional teams

  • Creatively solves problems and identifies solutions

  • Strong personnel management and development skills

  • Able to engage, influence and lead people on other functional teams

  • Able to communicate complex concepts to groups that result in a consensus among participants

  • Outstanding project management skills

  • Excellent conceptual, analytic, inductive and deductive problem solving skills

  • Strong strategic planning, organizational planning and management skills

  • Excellent written and presentation skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10-20% of time

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook


Education & Experience Required:

  • B.S./B.A in relevant field of study required

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS, MPH) from top-tier institution preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in new product development of market research and/or decision support services for, pharmaceutical, medical device or other healthcare related industry service and/or data-based product

  • Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical firms information needs and uses of market research and consulting services

  • 3+ years P&L management experience including budgeting, tracking, and resource allocations to optimize profit

  • 5+ years of personnel management and organizational management experience

  • Brand/product marketing/management experience preferred

  • Experience in the management of complex operational functions in a matrix work environment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
