Laboratory Instrument Maintenance Technician

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:




  • Perform work with the utmost regard for safety and health of all involved.


  • Develop and manage a maintenance program in Maximo for all lab instrumentation including the strategy around preventive maintenance.


  • Act as the sole point of contact for any troubleshooting exercises for all lab equipment.


  • Provide instrument design and improvement functions for all equipment.


  • Read and interpret instruments? schematics.


  • Repair and maintain various analytical instrumentation and support equipment such as PDHID detectors, FTIRs, and various gas analyzers.


  • Coordinate vendor support with OEMs of all equipment.


  • Establish and maintain an inventory tracking program.


  • Initiate, follow through, and complete MOCs.


  • Help support new equipment installation with the customer and OEMs.


  • Trend instrument maintenance data using statistical process control to be proactive and reduce instrument downtime.


  • Maintain general work area as per 5S methodology and set the example.


  • Be familiar with evaluation, interpretation, and verification of analytical data.


  • Use analytical and problem-solving skills to solve customer problems related to chemicals and contamination.


  • Proficient in computer skills such as LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google platform, and spotfire or other SPC graphing tools.


  • Knowledge of toxic, corrosives, and atmospheric gases and corresponding chemical analyses and processes.


  • Able to work in a team environment with good communication skills.


  • Able to travel occasionally for trainings.

Requirements




  • Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or Equipment Repair


  • 3+ years experience in a chemical analysis lab maintaining analytical instrumentation or equivalent.


  • Instrument knowledge - Having previously worked with Agilent, Bruker, Varian GCs/FTIRs, and other gas analyzers a major plus


  • Software knowledge - Agilent EZ Chrome, and other analytical instrument softwares.


  • General Laboratory safety protocol.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
